Huskers in the Headlines

Receiver picks NU after visit – Chalk this one up to TE Coach Ron Brown. Rivals has Cooper listed at 6’2″ 175 lbs. He is a 3 star WR out of Shreveport, LA. Cooper is also a great baseball player and could help out the Huskers there as well.

Husker staff’s first class patchwork or a plus? – I think Pelini is doing a great job. He has gotten 12 commitments in a short amount of time. I can’t wait until Wednesday to see what suprises are in store.

NU changes kept its recruiters busy – Great comparison on what Callahan and Pelini each had to go through after taking over the program. If everything works out right three to four years from now we will be talking about the genius that is Bo Pelini.

Dream class can’t assure dream team – Great article on how a top recruiting class guarantees nothing. If it did we should have been playing for the 2007 National Championship instead of sitting at home while other teams were bowling.

Maher to walk on at NU – Maher is turning down a scholarship from Ohio University to walk-on at Nebraska. I can’t really blame the kid. If given the choice I would much rather walk-on at NU then get a scholarship to anywhere else. Hopefully his commitment pays off and he ears a scholarship.

P.J. Smith committed to NU – Great commitment for NU. P.J. Smith is a 3 star safety on both Scout and Rivals. This is a pretty good pick-up.
